As expected, on February 14, the South Korean company Samsung unveiled the world’s first smartphone on its own OS Bada – S8500 Wave. The device is equipped with a 3.3" Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels, Bluetooth 3.0 module and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, reports PhoneArena.
The screen built on the Super AMOLED technology, has a more clear image compared to the conventional AMOLED-display. In addition, it consumes less energy. Samsung S8500 Wave display is also protected by tempered glass.
The device has a 1 GHz processor Samsung, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording to HD-quality 720p, GPS, 2 GB of internal memory (according to other sources, there will also be available the version with 8 GB) MicroSD slot, and 3 ,5-mm audio connector.
In the Samsung S8500 Wave it’s used TouchWiz 3.0 interface with support for ten virtual desktops. The application Social Hub will help to manage e-mails and communication in social networks.
The dimensions of the smartphone are 118×56x10, 9 mm. On sales, Samsung S8500 Wave will appear in April. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not specified the cost of the device.
